In Loving Memory....

Those we love remain with us for love itself lives on, and cherished memories never fade because a loved one is gone. Those we love can never be more than a thought apart, for as long as there is a memory they will live on in our hearts.

Some of you may know my MIL better known as Babci ( polish for grandmother) has been fighting IBC Inflammatory Breast Cancer for 1.5 years. She fought it hard and gave it her all but we lost her on November 12.

We will miss her terribly and will love her always.

There is magic in a mothers touch, and sunshine in her smile.
There is love in everything she does to make our lives worthwhile.
We can find hope and courage just by looking in her eyes.
Her laughter is a source of joy, her words are warm and wise.
There is a kindness and compassion to be found in her embrace, and we see the light of heaven shining from a Mother's face.

I LOVE THIS DOCTOR!!!!

I LOVE THIS DOCTOR!!!!

QUESTION & ANSWER SESSION

Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life; is this
true?

A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it... Don't
waste them on exercise . Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up
your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can
extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer?
Take a nap.

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables?

A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay
and corn And what are these? Vegetables . So a steak is nothing more
than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system.
Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass
(green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your
recommended daily allowance of vegetable products

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Should I reduce my alcohol intake?

A: No, not at all. Wine is made from fruit. Brandy is distilled
wine, that means they take the water out of the fruity bit so you get
even more of the goodness that way. Beer is also made out of grain.
Bottoms up!

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?

A: Well, if you have a body and you have fat, your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in a regular
exercise program?

A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No
Pain...Good!

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?

A: You're not listening.... Foods are fried these days in vegetable
oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more
vegetables be bad for you?

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the
middle?

A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You
should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is chocolate bad for me?

A: Are you crazy? HELLO Cocoa beans! Another vegetable. It's the
best feel-good food around! !

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is swimming good for your figure?

A: If swimming is good for your figure, explain whales to me.

------------------------------------------------------------

Q: Is getting in-shape important for my lifestyle?

A: Hey! 'Round' is a shape! !

------------------------------------------------------------

Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had
about food and diets.

And remember:
'Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of
arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather
to skid in sideways - Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other -
body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, 'WOO HOO, What
a Ride

Shoeless Woman....

The Chesco Moms blogging team and a few friends are headed to The Martha Stewart Show on Tuesday, October 28th. We are all so excited! We are trying to decide if we should drive or take the train... Any suggestions? Okay now what to wear.... Hummm that is a tough one. Thank Goodness Calista hooked up my hair and makeup so I wont have to worry about that...I have some new clothes ....Oh NO I need shoes. I know my big problem is shoes. I need to get some cute shoes. Okay calling all girly girls with style and the shopping bug. What stores would you send me to ???? Oh yeah I said it No SHOES!!!! I am a sneaker or sandal kinda girl and well for Martha I think I need to step it up and become a big girl. Put Mommy on the back burner and go for style with a tiny bit of comfort. So if you have any suggestions please help a poor shoeless woman out!I might even need an intervention Honestly it is that bad I looked at my shoes for my trip to Boston and they where all from early college. They might be coming back in style but really early 90's shoes that is sad. For Martha I need to step it up , Put mommy on the back burner and really try and nurture the stylish side of me if it even exists.Just in case you did not hear correctly this is a cry for HELP. It kinda is a high pitched squeaky HELLLLPPPPP MEEEEEEE coming from my shoeless closet.

Oh and can some one tell me what is stylish in shoes these days. Oh please tell me platform shoes have not come back in........ I saw some kinda scary ballet high heel thing from Japan or some place so I will keep my fingers crossed that they are not the hottest thing right now.

This is so sad.... So why am I laughing

Home made cakes are the best....

Anyone can go to a store and purchase a cake but it takes talent and love to make a cake as beautiful as this one! My daughter turned 3 in september and I was, well okay to be honest I procrastinated ordering the cake of my dreams. I wanted something wonderful that would surprise my baby girl. While talking to a friend she said OH We can do it no problem..... Ahhhh Okay sure and 1 day before the party we started. It was fun and stressful I had ordered a sheet cake just in case we had a problem . Why do I tempt fate this way? Well it worked out beautifully don't you think? It was the best cake and my daughter will never forget it! Thanks Silly Girl! Silly Girl says it was easy but I am not so sure.... I think you need Talent, creativity, love and Passion mixed with life to be able to do this last minuet!

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU CHOOSE....

BE CAREFUL HOW YOU CHOOSE....
This is a great way in helping you decide who YOU want in office!
It's a survey, it doesn't give you any idea of who said what, you click on the answer to the question that is being asked. In the end it will tell you who you are leaning towards!
Cool!

Quote for the day:

"Whatever you give a woman, she's going to multiply. If you give her a house, she'll give you a home. If you give her groceries, she'll give you a meal. If you give her a smile, she'll give you her heart. She multiplies and enlarges what is given to her. So - if you give her any crap, you will receive a ton of shit."

GODMEN

As some of you may know my son has had a speech delay but he is almost age appropriate. Anyway at each meal he says a prayer but he finishes with GODMEN instead of Amen. As cute as it is he refuses to change it to Amen which he can also say. I so far have managed to keep a straight face when correcting him and this post is the first time I have talked about it so he can't be feeding off of the attention. It is for now his personal choice to end a prayer this way. He is his own person with his own opinions and boy does he stick to them.

Godmen to that!

Innocence at its best....

Innocence at its best....
My son age 4 suddenly realized oppps we had forgotten to say a prayer before dinner. So he asks who should go first.

Hmmmmm I said who would you like to go first.
You Mommy was the answer! Okay so I do my thing and when finished we say Amen and He announces Who should go next???
I can tell he really wants a turn. I had thought he would have gone first but he was being polite. So he tells me that he would like to say his prayer...
And went something like this

Thank you god for Lightning McQueen.
Thank you for having Gammy take me to the park it was fun.
And Thank you for having Mommy cook this yummy dinner. Its my favorite. And I would like to have it again. Amen

How exactly Lightning McQueen got in there first beats me but considering what a sad dinner I had cooked ( as I am not feeling to well) I was glad I had made it in the prayer at all.

Note to self- Penne pasta with spaghetti sauce, turkey meatballs and sprinkle cheese is always a good 10 min option when you could care less if you eat but need to feed the kids!

Consultation turns into surgery...

You just never know.... thats all I can say. Last Friday I found a lump so I made an appointment for Monday. By Monday it had tripled in size and was super painful. Great, referral for consultation... I was surprised and happy to hear I would get to go in on wed and not 6 months from now. Needless to say I was in such pain I poked a hole in my side in the hopes of letting the pressure release. NOPE. I arrive they take me to a room a nurse says so you here for a lump...

I lift my shirt her eye brows raise up and she says okay we need to move you to procedure!WHHHHHHHHHAAAATTTTT I had planned to drive myself to the consult but Hubby surprised me and stayed home. So I tramp off to the next room and she tells me to hop on the table and tells me to change out of my clothes. At this point the OH SHIT factor is flying around my brain. I had prepared my self for a needle some poking and prodding but as she lays out scalpels my mind was twirling.I keep hearing her say this will be painful but I have to have surgery right now. OKAY I was prepared to use a steak knife myself just last night so this is a good thing RIGHT? they give a local to numb me. that crap only numbs the skin surface. Anything beyond that was all nerve endings. Who knew fat had nerves...

As the Dr digs in you hear him say OHHHHHH this is nasty. Nice so now I am asking what what whats it look like ? Is it gross. Any whooo I have a nice hole in my side with 3 ft of packing stuffed in, drugs that make me all warm and fuzzy and more pain in my near future. Yeah for me. I go back Friday but till then I get to lay in bed and rest. hahahahaha yeah right. They asked if I had someone the nurse who will be visiting my house could train to do the packing. My answer ok I have a 3 and 4 yr old will that work. But no Hubby will be doing the torture as I understand the packing is the worst part of the whole process.

I can't get wet so no showers. I am going to be one of those old ladies who goes to get her hair washed at a salon. Hmmmmmm should I get curlers too. Friends offered to help me wash my hair which is super sweet but I can not imagine leaning over the tub since the hole is on my rib cage. So off to sit with all the blue haired old ladies for me. This could be good , I will get to see what the fab 5 will be doing when we get old and the kids are grown.

I am off to bed but at least you all know why I have been MIA for a while. Even on my death bed I will crawl over to the computer and try to post .

Ciao

Product Reviews

Currently I am reviewing a few new products. Yeah another side job but it is fun and who does not like free stuff.

The Action Scrubber is one of the products and I used it just yesterday on my shower. I had left it get especially dirty just to see how well it would really work.Okay maybe I did not let it get super dirty just for this but I was busy. Anywhoo it worked like a charm and was even kinda fun. I just love the little scrubbing bubbles, they make me happy. The handle was comfortable and soft so much better than what our mothers had to use! Ah don't you love how far we have come since the 19__ AHHHH I almost told you my age. The smell was pleasant and best of all it was over in a flash! While checking out there website I found a coupon!!!! So go try it out and save while doing it!

Save $2.75 on the NEW Scrubbing Bubbles® Action Scrubber™!
It tears through tough soap scum and grime—quickly and easily
The Scrubbing Bubbles® Action Scrubber™ has a specially designed handle that's easy to grip and attaches quickly to a disposable pad. Each pad contains tiny scrubbing fibers and concentrated Scrubbing Bubbles® formula.

- Concentrated cleaners tear through tough soap scum and grime
- Easy-grip handle flexes for curves and contours
- No more spraying or messy sponge to store
- Cleans without gritty chemicals, so it rinses away easily, leaving a brilliant shine

Another product I am trying out is Pledge Multi Surface
I have to say my favorite thing about this product is the fact I can get it in both wipes and a spray bottle. Sometimes all you need is a tiny easy wipe and for huge jobs or when cleaning the house top to bottom the spray is the way to go. As with everyone else's houses I have to clean a billion different surfaces( well okay not a billion but alot) and having a different product for each surface might be nice but who can store all the cleaners and then you have to care them all over the house. With this you just have one bottle. Yeah all of us moms who in a spare moment try and clean a house might not have a hunch back by the time we are 40. I can't say enough about this product but I certainly am enjoying all of its benefits...
Safely cleans & dusts wood, glass and more in 1 easy step.

Okay anyone who knows me will tell you I don't usually wear make up and if I do it is Bobbi Brown. With that said I thought well lets bring it on... Make up here I come!!Here is my verdict....

I was surprised, excited, intrigued, and even enthusiastic. I love to go with out make up, but when I want a little something... I want it to look right and this did. I love the lipfinity best of all. It lasted better than I have ever experienced before. I hate having to not only put the stuff on at home but then you have to drag it with you to repair.Ugh Honestly I did not really have to go do any fixing up of my lips and lets just say I talk alot so I was happy to limit the time for fixing my face.

I have coupons for all of these products so if your interested in trying one of them just comment and I will give you a coupon. I have a limited quantity so first come first serve!

If any of you are interested in doing product reviews just leave me your email and I will send you an invitation.I have reviewed a bunch of other products such as Carolina(R) Gourmet Rice
Ziploc(R) Twist 'N Loc(R) Containers
Claritin(R) RediTabs(R)
Tropicana Pure Valencia(TM)
Stonyfield Farm 32oz Yogurt
Hillshire Farm(R) Deli Wraps
LypSyl
LISTERINE WHITENING (R) Quick Dissolving Strips
Sonicare FlexCare
Afrin(R)
Barilla Tortellini
Aura(TM) by Benjamin Moore(R)

I have only been doing this for about a year I think I started last year in Aug. Only now did it occur to me to blog about this what fun now I can share with all of you. Some times I get multiple samples that I give out to friends!!
